Obama officials met today to discuss the concerns about their “timetable” as to when to pull the troops out of Afghanistan. Critics are claiming that there is significant contradictions between when the date to pull the troops out is. McCain is saying that Obama was “set in stone” about declaring that all troops should be pulled out by July 2011, but now Obama is declaring that this is just a timetable and not a “drop dead deadline.” Many people are claiming that Obama is going against his words to pull troops out of Afghanistan immediately and waiting until Afghanistan has their government under control. Is Obama contradicting himself with changing the deadlines for troop pullout?

Woman’s Bag Gets Stuck in Metro

In Massachusetts, a woman got her bag stuck in the metro doors. When the metro starting moving she screamed for help, but nobody did and when the metro approached a tunnel the woman finally let go of her bag, but collided into the wall. After the incident the person who is supposed to make sure all doors are cleared was fired and the metro operator was suspended for 10 days. I understand this is a serious situation involving the safety of people, but should all the blame be on the metro operator and train attendent. Shouldn’t the woman have let go of her bag more recently so she wouldn’t have hit the tunnel wall? What do you think?

A Florida Court is paying $150 a day to cover up a defendents offensive tattoos during his trial. John Dituillo has offensive tattoos on his neck and across his face in which the court is paying make up artists to cover it up so he will not be judged on his tattoos and should be judged on the facts. The prosecution side is claiming that his tattoos are part of his identity and should not be covered up. Is it fair for his appearance to be covered in fear that he will be judged when he chose to get his tattoos?

Did Nancy Grace’s Questioning Result in Suicide of Mother

A Harvard Professor is making claims that the death of  Melinda Duckett was caused from Nancy Grace’s harsh questioning in an interview about her missing son. Duckett’s family is filing a wrongful death case claiming that Grace’s questions caused the mother to have emotional distress which resulted in her suicide. After Duckett’s child went missing, Grace did an interview with her and supposedly questioned her about her involvement with the disappearance of her child. Do you think that Grace should be accused of her suicide? If she is, then what would that mean for all reporters, would they have to watch what they say so they don’t say harsh questions?

Hillary Clinton has been busy with other issues, but is willing to review the Amanda KNox Case.  Knox who was accused and convicted of killing her roommate in Italy faces up to 26 years in prison. Now, people are saying that the Italian judicial system was biased towards the prosecutor. Claims have been made that the jurors on the case were allowed to view “highly negative news” against Knox and that she was supposedly mistreated while in holding. Even though she is an American should Hillary Clinton drop everything to look at a case that has already been closed? Do you think that Clinton reviewing the case will actually change the decision that Italian jurors already made?

Rat Cooking Lands Celeb Reality Show in Hot Water

The celebrity reality show, “Im a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here” is in hot water after animal activists made a complaint about animal cruelty to cooking animals. The show is supposed to have an animal welfares officer on the island, but this season they did not. Two of the contestants are now being charged and can get a maximum penalty of three years in prison for cooking rats as food.

Is it really necessary to charge these two men for animal cruelty because they were cooking food for themselves on a desserted island? Should the producers of the show be at fault for their actions since an animal welfares officer was not there? What do you think?

ABC Cancelling Two More Apearances Due to the FCC

December 6, 2009 1 comment

http://www.realitytvworld.com/news/adam-lambert-abc-dropping-two-more-appearances-due-fcc-heat-10036.php

After Adam Lambert’s AMA performance, ABC cancelled not only his appearance on GMA the following morning, but also his appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live and New Year’s Rockin Eve show. His performance during the AMA’s consisted of him kissing a guy and make sexual motions to all of his dancers including rubbing a dancer’s face in his crotch. Many people are complaining about ABC dropping his appearances, claiming it is discrimination against homosexuals, but ABC has claimed that it has nothing to do with “the kiss.” They claim that the FCC rules that during 6 am and 10 pm kids may be watching tv and that material that shows indecency is not allowed be tween these hours.

The moral issue is that whether or not ABC cancelled his appearances based solely off his kiss with another guy. Was it fair for them to drop all of his appearances including a New Year’s Eve performance?
