This is a Test: The Dilemmas of Drug Testing

Drug testing in the work place has been a heavily debated topic in recent years.  The employer deserves to be a productive as possible and that is not possible when an employee is on drugs.  It has been proven that a non drug user is more productive and less prone to accidents in the work place.  This article discusses both sides of the issue.  The employee has right and drug testing invades these rights but the employee was told when they were hired that there would be random drug testing.  So if an employee refuses, should that employee be fired?  I think that if the person agreed to random drug testing at the time they were hired but refuse when they were asked to take one.  Then yes they should be.  The employee knew up front about the protocol.  May to compromise drug testing should be done when drug use is suspected.
