Kanye West Crashes VMA Stage During Taylor Swift’s Award Speech

Most if not all are familiar with the incident that happened at 2009 VMA awards. Kanye West interrupted the Best Female Video winner, Taylor Swift, speech to proclaim “I’m sorry, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time.” He was reprimanded and had a few tour cancellations, but that was it. The ethical issue at hand is double standard, if it where a CMA award show and Darius Rucker was award best new country album, winning over Faith Hill, and Tim McGraw interrupted him, as Kyane did to Taylor, the racist backlash that would have arisen… I feed Kyane got off easy.. because race was not an issue. However if the shoe was on the other foot, or color… then race would be an issue… ethical double standards.

First off, no matter whar the race is Kanye as wrong to interrupet Taylor Swift as she was accepting her award. Beyonce knew Kanye was wrong from the start as well. His immature actions have lead to a strong racist debate. It is a fact that by Kanye West’s songs he is racist. I am not judging him by being racist, but by him interrupting a young white girls award acceptance was wrong. It elevated the peoples awareness of his racism and was completely wrong. It was wrong both ethically an morally by him.

The Kanye issue was clearly just a man stating his opinion. He did it wrongfully but that is the country you guys built. A country with freedom of speech and expression. Kanye disrecpect Taylor and i conclude that he was wrong for doing that but still he was just stating what he felt the correct decision was.

We all do it, just not out loud.

I feel that Kanye was just trying to receive some press because their album did not do as well as his others and he has been out of the spotlight, also Beyonce is a good friend of his I do not think race had much to do with it.

Kanye was wrong for interupting Taylor Swift during her award. To say that it is an ethical issue IF another senario happend. The other senario didnt happen so to make the conclusion that this can be an ethical issue is a bit extreme. Then we could all say that every possible senario that ever comes up is an ethical issue.

What Kanye West did to Taylor Swift was completely uncalled for. Even though we live in a world where we have the freedom to speech and expression, you should not be allowed to publicly disrespect someone like that. I think that Kanye was punished enough because I feel that people will now always look at him differently after what he did to Taylor.
