Officer Stealing Gas

Springfield Officer John Fulmer was arrested for petty larceny and misconduct in office. The State Law Enforcement Division charged the 51 year old after he was caught charging the town for fuel used to fill his personal vehicle. He was arrested and released on Friday with a 10,000 dollar bond.

If this isn’t one of the silliest idiotic things an officer can do, I don’t know what is. This is very much so an ethical issue. Everyone else has to pay for gas, why not Fulmer? He may have lost his job over $191 is gas for his personal vehicle. I know he makes well over this amount on his checks!!!

Wow…I thought police officers were supposed to be role models? I agree with the post above that this is probably one of the stupidist(if thats a word) things you could do, ever. I guess this officer thought that noone would catch on? It’s sad but some police officers bring on the sterotype themselves, who do they think they are? Filling you PERSONAl vehicle with gas using the town’s money? Really? That’s just as bad as a cop putting on his blue lights to go through a red stoplight! (I know ive seen that one before)

I also agree that it was wrong for a police officer to steal from the town that he works for. Police officers are given a lot of respect and trust in enforcing and upholding the law. However, this trust also comes with the responsibility to not abuse their position of power. Unfortunately, when someone abuses this trust, it reflects negatively on all of the other officers who are upholding their duty and following the law.

Talk about protecting the citizens. This officer was protecting himself by filling his vehicles up on the city’s credit. Way to save yourself money dude, but how did. Did he seriouslly think he would never be caught? Cops are suppose to be role models to town citizens and especially children. How can you have a child looking up to a liar and a thief, way to ruin your reputation, and make the stereotype for cops even worse.
