Same sex Marriage

Same Sex

The article is about the bill for same sex marriage being shot down in the NY senator debate.

This article makes me very happy because it denied gays and lesbians the right to be joined together in wedlock. I dont mean to get religious but seeing that most of our moral beliefs are based off what we believe religiously i feel i can relate this one to religion.

Marriage is defined as the union between a man and a woman. so if that is the definition of marriage then how can we allow man and man and woman and woman to be joined together in wedlock? It is not possible. One of the reason why the bill wasnt passed was because of the definition of marriage.

what are your thoughts on same sex marriage? mine is NO!

Although I am no homosexual I still feel that people have the right to be married to the same sex. Not being very religious gives me more of an open mind. Religion tends to be narrow minded and not realize the realities of the world. The statement saying religion shapes our morals is incorrect. Morality is what is right and wrong. Although some of what is considered right and wrong is based of religious views does that mean the bible is the basis of morality?

I personally don’t care about the same sex marriage deal. If people love each other and want to be together for the rest of their lives then why not let them get married whether its man and man or woman and woman. I think people should be more open minded and let others do as they please and not judge them. If straight people can live a happy life together then why can’t gays/lesbians.

You are wrong! Same sex couples have just as much rights to get married as anyone else. Your religious stand point is the reason why America separated religion and state. Who said your religion or definition of marriage is right? No one but YOU. Same sex couples live together share mortgage payments and do all of the same things a straight couple would do with the exception of what they do behind closed doors (which is irrelevant and no one’s business). So why shouldn’t they reap the benefits of being in the same situations as a straight couple like tax breaks, loans etc. You would not reprimand some one for having different religious beliefs as you would you? No because as Americans we are thought tolerance and that would be wrong right? Well, this is the same situation just because gay people believe something different from you it is wrong. Well this is a very close minded stand point and I disagree with it totally. If you are a homophobe than don’t associate with gays or lesbian but don’t think of them as less than you just because their beliefs are different. And they are citizens of this country so they have the same rights as everyone else so look at them as people as our brothers and sisters who went through their whole lives defending their beliefs.

Well personally, the world and all of its ways have changed drastically in the past centuries. If people want to spend their lives together and make the promise of marriage, who are we to stop them. This is a country of freedom and people flee here to have that right. I nor any other person has the right to deny anyone their rights.
