Woman’s Bag Gets Stuck in Metro

In Massachusetts, a woman got her bag stuck in the metro doors. When the metro starting moving she screamed for help, but nobody did and when the metro approached a tunnel the woman finally let go of her bag, but collided into the wall. After the incident the person who is supposed to make sure all doors are cleared was fired and the metro operator was suspended for 10 days. I understand this is a serious situation involving the safety of people, but should all the blame be on the metro operator and train attendent. Shouldn’t the woman have let go of her bag more recently so she wouldn’t have hit the tunnel wall? What do you think?

The woman does have some accountability in the accident however it is ultimately the metro operators job to make sure that all travelers are safe from harm. I would relate this case to the McDonalds coffee case. McDonalds was found at fault for brewing their coffee too hot. The consumer has an individual responsibility to check the temperature of the coffee, however McDonalds was found liable.
