Pa. school drops required fitness class for obese
This article talks about how students with a BMI of 30 or above had to take a health fitness class to graduate. The historically black college eliminated the program because students were complaining that it is not fair for them to take the program and not everyone in the college. I think it is unethical to make large college students take this course and not everyone in the college. It is commendable to try and help these obese students but I feel that you should make everyone take the course to graduate.

I think this should have been one of those programs that was offered as an elective and any person could choose whether or not to take the course. It is unfair to select a group of people who you think should take the class especially if its in a stereotypical manner, don’t make fun of large people by placing them in an exercise class, even if it is to benefit them, it still hurts their feelings and makes them feel bad about themselves, and I’m sure that is not what the fitness class was aimed to do.
