Baucus Acknowledges Recommending a Woman He Was Dating

This articleis about Senator Baucus recommending to appoint his girl friend to federal prosecuter in Montana. As soon as the media started to criticize this decision she pulled out of the race for the position and he took her out of the race as well. This man who is a very powerful man in Washington needs to make better decisions. It is not looked highly upon when a U.S. senator promotes his girl friend to a powerful position. This is looked at as unfair puttin everyone else who may or may not be better for the job than his girlfriend. He should’ve realized that from the beginning instead of making a poor decision.

If he feels that his girlfriend is a good candidate for the job. Then the decision to appoint his partner to the seat is valid. She fed the media frenzy by pulling out of the race, speculating that she herself didnt think that she was a good enough candidate for the job and that she feels that his decision was a wrong one.

We cant know for sure that the senator’s action were pure or not but what we do know is that we actually DONT know anything behind this.

I feel that he should not appoint his girlfriend to this position. It is a conflict of interest and could cause problems later on. I work in a hotel and in the hotel policy a girlfriend or spouse cannot work in the same department if the spouse is at a higher position.
